Abstract:Background: Brassica campestris plant, a prominent member Brassicaceae family, has documented therapeutic potential in the common cold, as an antibacterial, antiprotozoal, to some extent analgesic folk medicine. Objectives: The present study aimed determine antinociceptive activity ethanolic extract leaves plant rats. Materials Methods: effects were evaluated by using hot plate test formalin analgesia method. data presented mean ± standard error (M SEM). One-way analysis variance [ANOVA] followed Tukey’s multiple comparison tests performed for statistical analysis. P-value was considered signicant at < 0.05. Results: withdrawal latency period noticed be gradually signicantly prolonged after 400mg/kg oral administration reaching maximum 12.73 0.61 sec (p<0.05) compared control rats (6.13 0.09 sec) test. behavior experimental also found quite both phases formalin-induced pain (61 81% respectively; p<0.05) when administered dose body weight animals (25 40% respectively). Conclusion: may contain pharmacologically active constituents associated with further characterization those moieties valuable treatment designing new strategy.
